Requests for listed ice: the hour you want, what it is for, about how many people, any note you add, and your name and email, plus a phone number if you choose to give one. If you join a pickup skate, we ask for your name, email, position and level (a phone number is optional, for texts); its public lineup shows your position, your level and the lineup name you choose (by default your first name and last initial, or just “Skater” or “Goalie” if you join anonymously). Your contact details never appear, and Prolific can hide a name at any time. Prolific may use an AI service to help draft messages about a skate; it receives the skate's details and counts, not your phone number or email.

Post Ice submissions: the rink, date, time and price of the hour you are offering, your name and email, a phone number if you choose to give one, and anything else you choose to add, such as your organization, a booking link or notes.

We use this to confirm and book the ice you request or to review the hour you offered, to contact you by email or phone about it, and to keep a record of what happened with your request. When you join a skate or send a request, we email you a confirmation (and text it too, if you gave a phone number), and we email or text you updates about that same skate or request (for example when you move up from the waitlist, when you're charged, if your card is declined, or when a hold is released), each with a private link to your signup that only works for that signup. We do not send marketing texts. Message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to any text to stop them. Payments: your card details go directly to Stripe, our payment processor, and never reach Prolific's servers. Stripe gives us reference numbers for your saved card and your hold or payment, and their status, which we keep with your booking. Stripe handles your card information under its own privacy policy. To book real ice for you, we share the booking details the rink needs with that rink.

An account is optional; booking as a guest works the same. You can sign in with Google or Microsoft, or by giving your email and entering the one-time code we email you; we don't use passwords. When you use Google or Microsoft, they tell us your verified email address; we use only that email and don't get your password or access to your mailbox. Your account is your email address: signing in shows the signups made with that email (including ones you made before signing in), and fills your name and phone from your latest signup. Signing in sets a cookie that keeps you signed in on that browser for 30 days, plus a second cookie that only tells the page you're signed in. Signing out removes both. We don't store anything extra for an account.

Anonymous usage analytics. To understand how people use Prolific, we record which public pages are viewed, searches (only whether a place, date or price was chosen, never what you typed), which filters and buttons are used, whether a request was saved, the website that sent you (just its domain, such as facebook.com) and any campaign tag in the link you followed. A random ID stored in your browser lets us tell when the same browser comes back. We do not attach your name, email or phone to analytics, and our analytics provider is set to discard your IP address.

Masked session recordings. On public browsing and listing pages we may record how the page is used (scrolling, clicks, layout) with all text and inputs masked and forms and images blocked. We never record the Post Ice or My Ice pages.

Abuse protection. When you send a request we store a scrambled code derived from your internet address so we can limit repeated submissions. We do not store your raw IP address with your request. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs.

You can turn analytics off at any time with Turn analytics off at the bottom of any page; this also removes the random ID from your browser. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not collect analytics at all.

Demo activity, ice you watch, a demo player profile, your analytics choice and, if you tick “Remember my contact details,” your name and email are kept in your browser's storage. Clearing your browser data removes them.

To find ice for you, we may share your request details (such as dates, times, location and the kind of ice you need) with rinks, associations or teams. We share your name or contact details with them only when needed to arrange ice you asked for.

We use service providers to run Prolific: Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), and, when they're switched on, Twilio (texts) and PostHog (analytics). They process information on our behalf and are not allowed to use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

We keep requests and submissions while we are working on them and for a reasonable time afterward as a record, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, even if you ask us to delete the rest. Analytics data is kept for a limited period set in our analytics provider.

You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing reid@withprolific.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Prolific is meant for adults arranging ice, including coaches, team managers and parents. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
